Quick Facts

I have been diagnosed with cancer 3x and this is where I keep track of my medical treatment.

• I was diagnosed with stage 3a melanoma on my right abdomen with one positive sentinel lymph node in 2012 (age 29). Treatment: 2 surgeries, declined immunotherapy (too controversial).
• I was diagnosed with stage 1 spindle cell sarcoma (myofibroblastic) in my left leg in 2014 (age 31). Treatment: 3 surgeries, 5 weeks of radiation therapy.
• I was diagnosed with stage 1b, grade 2 breast cancer (invasive ductal carcinoma, ER/PR+, HER2-) with one positive sentinel lymph node in 2015 (age 32). Treatment: lumpectomy, 6 weeks of radiation therapy, 5-10 years on an aromatase inhibitor + monthly ovarian suppression injections.

They are all unrelated malignancies. My prognosis is great on all fronts, provided I keep up on my follow-ups and avoid recurrence. I am lucky to have caught everything by myself and in curable stages. Moral of the story... always advocate for your own health!

Genetics: I am BRCA 1 & 2 negative. I have a variant of unknown significance in PALB2. I had a comprehensive cancer panel via Gene Dx and no hereditary cancer syndromes were found.
